The Preparatory Department is situated in its own purpose-built building within the beautiful grounds of Friends’ School and adjacent to the Quaker Meeting House.
The Prep building boasts seven well-equipped classrooms, each with their own cloakroom facilities, as well as a communal resource area on the ground floor and a well-stocked library on the first floor.
We aim to make the most of the rich learning potential that our generous, wooded campus provides; Forest School activities and outdoor lessons are an integral part of the curriculum, allowing all pupils to engage in active, authentic learning that enhances their sense of wellbeing. The Preparatory Department overlooks Wallace Park and is a short walk from Lisburn City Centre.
Prep pupils have full access to the Grammar School’s PE facilities, including their hockey and rugby pitches for team sports and each class visits the Grammar School ICT suite every week to develop their Digital Skills. We use the school’s Assembly Hall, not only for assembly, but also to stage school plays and other functions. The Preparatory Department is conveniently placed to use the main Dining Hall for Breakfast Club and lunch every day.
